Stock Photos of WildlifeThe Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is the largest ecosystem in the lower 48 states covering 18 million-acres. This includes the entire valley known as Jackson Hole and both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. From the town of Jackson the valley ascends north into Grand Teton National Park until it strikes the volcanic plateau of Yellowstone National Park. The area is known for its wildlife. Five dozen types of mammals live here, including Moose, Elk, Bison, Black Bears, Grizzly Bears, Bighorn Sheep, Coyotes and Grey Wolves. Bisected by the Snake River, the valley is also home to a variety of fish and bird species. The Cutthroat Trout is the only native trout along with the introduced Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout.
